Business Analyst - Accounting Operations

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Business Analyst for its Accounting Operations team, based in Warsaw - Prosta. The role supports strategic and tactical project work for Finance and Financial Systems, acting as a Subject Matter Expert and leading small teams. It is a hybrid position with at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation of strategic documents such as project business cases, assessments, communication plans and detailed project plans.
• Work with the Financial Systems team and user groups to prepare the rationale for new system implementations.
• Research problems and issues and recommend solutions, providing tactical analysis for projects.
• Test system enhancements and upgrades, liaising between IT and users and supporting production users in their day-to-day work.
• Analyze data when required and act as a SME in projects managed by external project managers.
• Present project updates to senior management within Finance.
• Map accounting processes and recommend improvements, such as robotics versus other solutions.
• Lead small teams on minor projects, using implementation toolkits and migration schedules, tracking tasks and escalating issues when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in accounting or finance.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment, with strong organization and multitasking skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau and Power BI, and experience with data visualization.
