Senior Software Engineer – AOSP Platform

About the role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to lead the architecture and development of a customized Android Open Source Project (AOSP) platform for next‑generation video‑conferencing appliances. The role sits at the intersection of native platform engineering and enterprise collaboration, delivering stable, high‑performance hardware for huddle rooms and boardrooms.

Key responsibilities

• Customize, extend and maintain AOSP system services, middleware and framework APIs for enterprise collaboration devices.
• Integrate core Android subsystems (Camera, Display, Audio, HALs) with conferencing hardware such as multi‑mic arrays, PTZ cameras, DSPs and USB/HDMI capture devices.
• Optimize boot time, power, thermal, memory footprint, CPU/GPU usage and overall application responsiveness.
• Diagnose and resolve complex intermittent system failures using Perfetto, Systrace, Logcat and native crash analysis tools.
• Collaborate with firmware, product and QA teams in an Agile environment to bring features from bring‑up to mass production.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on Android development and AOSP customization.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and C/C++ with strong JNI experience.
• Deep knowledge of Android internals, IPC mechanisms (Binder, AIDL), and HAL architecture.
• Proven ability to write unit, integration and automated tests for enterprise‑grade stability.

Required skills

• Android platform development, AOSP build system (Soong, Blueprint, Makefiles)
• Performance profiling tools: Perfetto, Systrace, Logcat, Tombstones, ANR traces
• Low‑level diagnostics and memory management
• Chromium/WebView customization, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, WebRTC
• Experience with enterprise video clients (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Google Meet)
