Senior Software Engineer – Android AOSP Platform

About the role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to lead the architecture and development of next‑generation video‑conferencing hardware appliances. You will work on a customized Android Open Source Project (AOSP) platform that powers modern meeting spaces, from huddle rooms to enterprise boardrooms.

Key responsibilities

• Customize, extend and maintain AOSP system services, middleware and framework APIs for enterprise collaboration appliances.
• Integrate core Android subsystems (Camera, Display, Audio, HALs) with conferencing hardware such as multi‑mic arrays, PTZ cameras, DSPs and USB/HDMI capture devices.
• Analyze and optimise boot time, power, thermal, memory footprint, CPU/GPU utilisation and application responsiveness.
• Diagnose and resolve complex intermittent system failures using Perfetto, Systrace, Logcat, tombstones and ANR traces.
• Collaborate with firmware, product and QA teams in an Agile environment to bring features from bring‑up to mass production.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on Android development and platform‑level engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and C/C++ with strong JNI experience.
• Deep knowledge of Android internals, IPC mechanisms (Binder, AIDL), system services and HAL interfaces.
• Proven ability to write unit, integration and automated tests for enterprise‑grade stability.

Required skills

• Android AOSP build environment (Soong, Blueprint, Makefiles).
• Low‑level diagnostics tools: Perfetto, Systrace, Logcat, tombstones, ANR traces.
• HAL development (AIDL/HIDL) and hardware abstraction.
• Chromium/WebView customisation, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, WebRTC (nice to have).
• Multithreading, concurrency, memory management, performance profiling.
