Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake & Power BI

About the role

BlackLine is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Business Intelligence & Analytics Engineering team in Krakow. You will be a core hands-on builder of the data platform behind an AI-powered invoice-to-cash SaaS product, designing and delivering the pipelines, models and reports that customers and internal teams rely on. You will work with Staff engineers, a manager and product partners, and use modern AI development tools such as Claude and Cursor.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines that move and transform data from operational systems, microservices, event streams and third-party sources into analytics-ready datasets in Snowflake.
• Develop enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards, including semantic models, row-level security and a governed BI layer.
• Help shape the end-to-end Snowflake data architecture, from ingestion and transformation to serving, keeping it scalable, cost-efficient and reliable.
• Apply best-practice data modelling, producing modular, tested and documented models.
• Use AI-accelerated development tools to speed up pipeline development, query optimization and documentation.
• Bake data quality, automated testing and monitoring into pipelines.
• Share knowledge through code reviews and documentation, and collaborate with software engineers, product managers and finance stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and running production ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Ability to work independently on well-scoped initiatives and to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience in finance, accounting or fintech, familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, AWS Glue or S3 data lakes, streaming with Kafka or Azure Event Hubs, and knowledge of responsible AI principles.

Required skills

• Snowflake: data modelling, performance tuning, clustering or dynamic tables, and native security and governance.
• Power BI: DAX, Power Query, row-level security, incremental refresh.
• ELT/ETL tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
• Expert SQL and at least one general-purpose language (Python preferred).
• Experience with AI-driven development tools such as Cursor and Claude.

Total base pay range: 254,000 to 318,000 PLN per year.
