Manager, Software Engineering – BI & Analytics Team

About the role

BlackLine is looking for its founding Manager, Software Engineering for a new Business Intelligence and Analytics Engineering team in Krakow. The team spans data engineering, cloud data platforms, BI and analytics, and applied AI, and you will be responsible for hiring and developing engineers, shaping the team's culture and practices, and leading delivery from data pipelines to agentic AI experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build and scale the Krakow BI and analytics engineering team, including hiring, onboarding and career development.
• Own delivery of the Snowflake analytics platform: Fabric database mirroring from Azure tenant databases to Snowflake, the modelling and semantic layers, and Power BI dashboards.
• Lead the roadmap toward agentic AI for risk analysis, credit management, cash allocation and disputes and deductions, using HITL and HOTL patterns on the BL 3.0 Agentic framework.
• Partner with Product Management, manage engineering capacity, remove blockers and ensure on-time delivery.
• Champion AI-accelerated development with tools such as Cursor and Claude, and set standards for data quality, CI/CD, testing, security and observability.
• Act as the engineering leadership voice with Product, Design and stakeholders, and contribute to quarterly and annual planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams in a SaaS environment, hiring and retaining engineers at multiple seniority levels.
• Strong people management skills, including performance management and career development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to represent the team to senior leadership and work across time zones and cultures.

Required skills

• Data engineering and analytics: cloud data platforms and pipelines, ideally Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI / DAX, and dimensional or semantic modelling.
• Application engineering: production-grade services, ideally C# / .NET, and integration with React, SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Enthusiasm for agentic AI and AI-driven development tools such as Cursor and Claude.
