Senior C++ Developer

About the role

Hitachi Energy Services is looking for a Senior C++ Developer in Krakow to design, develop and maintain high-performance, robust software for its products. You will take part in the full software development lifecycle, contribute to architectural decisions and ensure code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of complex software modules and applications in C++
• Architect and optimise software for performance, scalability and reliability in distributed systems
• Conduct code reviews against coding standards, best practices and architectural guidelines
• Collaborate with product management, QA and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions
• Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues
• Mentor junior developers and foster continuous improvement
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation efforts
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and apply them to improve software offerings

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in C++ software development
• Solid understanding of operating systems concepts (Linux/Unix preferred) and network programming
• Experience with embedded systems is a plus

Required skills

• C++11/14/17/20, including object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
• Multi-threading, concurrency and performance optimisation
• Version control (e.g. Git) and agile development
• Unit testing frameworks (e.g. Google Test) and debugging tools
