R&D Lead Software Quality - Digital Service Solutions

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY POLAND is looking for an R&D Lead Software Quality for its Digital Service Solutions in Krakow. The role strengthens the Verification & Validation (V&V) capability so that digital service solutions are reliable, scalable, secure and fit for purpose across cloud, edge and industrial environments. It defines and leads solution-level V&V, sets strategy, standards and governance, and leads and develops the V&V organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead solution-level V&V principles, standards and practices for cloud, edge and hybrid environments
• Drive a risk-based, lifecycle-oriented approach covering functional and non-functional aspects such as performance, reliability, scalability and resilience
• Lead, manage and develop the V&V organisation, with the right capabilities, capacity and ways of working
• Oversee and govern V&V execution across projects and programs, balancing consistency with speed and innovation
• Work with architecture, development, testing and operations teams to embed V&V in modern digital delivery
• Support the use of test environments, simulation and virtualised setups for complex digital and cyber-physical systems
• Advise projects and programs and contribute to the continuous evolution of V&V capabilities

Required profile

• Strong foundation in verification, validation, quality, reliability engineering or systems engineering in digital, software-intensive or industrial domains
• Solid experience with cloud-based and distributed digital solutions, ideally including edge or OT-connected environments
• Proven ability to define, govern and oversee V&V frameworks at solution or portfolio level
• Experience leading or managing V&V, quality or verification teams across multiple projects
• Experience collaborating across software, systems, product management and operations teams
• Structured, analytical mindset and excellent communication skills at senior levels
