Head of People (HR Lead) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Head of People to own every people‑related function at intent. You will lead recruitment, HR operations, team development and policy design while partnering directly with the founders to shape the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a People team of two recruiters and an office manager, conducting weekly 1:1s and quarterly evaluations.
• Own the full recruitment cycle, delivering roughly 50 hires per year across specialist, leadership and back‑office roles.
• Design and continuously improve recruitment processes, train hiring managers and oversee agency relationships.
• Run onboarding, work‑shadowing and off‑boarding programs.
• Partner with team leads on performance reviews, competency matrices, development plans and corrective actions.
• Handle complex employee situations such as burnout, conflicts, terminations and difficult conversations.
• Advise the C‑suite on hiring decisions, compensation structures, org design and succession planning.
• Oversee HR operations including contracts, leave management, overtime calculations, invoice approvals and compensation reporting.
• Develop and maintain people policies covering leave, equipment, remote work, recruitment, bonuses, off‑boarding and benefits.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with ISO 27001 audits and labor inspection requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR or People functions in a fast‑growing, remote‑first environment.
• Strong track record of managing recruitment pipelines and delivering high‑volume hires.
• Ability to navigate complex employee issues and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership.
• Excellent communication skills and a hands‑on, results‑oriented mindset.
