Global HR Time & Payroll Transformation Program Manager

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Global HR Time & Payroll Transformation Program Manager to lead a multi‑year, multi‑country initiative that will digitalise and harmonise HR time and payroll operations worldwide. The role is based in Gdansk, Poland, with the possibility of remote work within selected European locations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the Global Time & Payroll transformation program, integrating multiple projects, regions, vendors and timelines.
• Define and maintain the overall program plan, milestones, dependencies, resourcing model and critical path.
• Ensure consistent application of program and project management principles across all sub‑initiatives.
• Proactively manage scope, risks, issues and inter‑project dependencies to secure predictable, high‑quality outcomes.
• Lead coordination across multiple external vendors, implementation partners and internal teams, ensuring clear accountability and contractual alignment.
• Establish strong global governance, robust delivery structures and predictable execution across all workstreams.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing large‑scale, multi‑vendor, multi‑country transformation programmes.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and align stakeholders at global and regional levels.
• Strong governance and risk‑management skills with a track record of delivering on time, within scope and budget.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, capable of influencing senior leadership.
