Supply Chain Engineering Specialist

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Supply Chain Engineering Specialist in Przasnysz, Poland, to bridge engineering, supply chain and new product development. The role supports the introduction of innovative products by securing high-quality prototype materials, building supplier partnerships and driving supply chain execution across the product development lifecycle. It works closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing and procurement teams.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the supply chain representative in new product development projects, aligning engineering and supply chain objectives
• Drive supplier selection, qualification and development for prototype and production components
• Manage sourcing and procurement of prototype materials, ensuring timely delivery, quality and cost efficiency
• Resolve technical, quality and supply issues with suppliers and project teams
• Lead SCM project activities such as material planning, cost tracking, PPAP coordination and documentation
• Coordinate logistics, inventory and forecasting for prototype and development programs
• Partner with global category managers, manufacturing teams and engineering stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement of supplier performance, product quality and supply chain efficiency

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing or new product development
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, forging, welding and surface treatment
• Fluent English and willingness to travel to supplier locations

Required skills

• ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• Quality methodologies such as PPAP and Lean Six Sigma
• Stakeholder management, communication and project coordination
