Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team and help a leading European e‑commerce platform scale its data‑driven services. You will work closely with product, technical and analytical teams to build, automate and maintain high‑performance data tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and automate tools within the Data Platform ecosystem.
• Support product, technical and analytical teams by delivering robust data solutions.
• Resolve operational issues reported via Slack, email or OpsGenie.
• Collaborate on design, testing and deployment using CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial data‑engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python (majority of work) and JVM languages such as Java, Kotlin or Scala.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Composer, Dataproc, Cloud Run) or comparable public clouds.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and PySpark, and solid Linux/Unix proficiency.
• Familiarity with Docker, Git and modern software‑development practices (TDD, Clean Code).
• English level B2 or higher, team‑oriented attitude and a drive for continuous learning.
