Senior Data Engineer (Cloud)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a strong cloud focus to help migrate and modernize our data products. You will work remotely with a global team, transforming legacy SQL and ETL processes into a scalable, cloud‑native architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate data products and analytical workloads from MS SQL Server to a modern cloud data platform.
• Analyze and redesign legacy SQL, ETL processes, and business logic for the target architecture.
• Build and maintain scalable batch data pipelines and analytical models.
• Validate migrated data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and business logic.
• Contribute to platform reliability, performance, cost optimization, and engineering best practices.
• Develop AI‑assisted automation for data‑engineering workflows, including reusable specifications and quality controls.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in data engineering with advanced SQL expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with the GCP data stack or equivalent cloud platform.
• Proven ability to design and operate production ETL/ELT pipelines and analytical data models.
• Strong Python programming skills applied to data engineering and automation.
• Good understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts such as IAM, networking, monitoring, CI/CD, and infrastructure configuration.
• Experience working with legacy data warehouses and complex business logic.
• Fluent Russian language skills.
