Payroll Expert - Global Mobility & Travel Compliance

About the role

Hitachi Energy is launching a global Business Travel Compliance program covering immigration, work authorization, social security, tax, payroll and other regulatory requirements for international business travel. As Payroll Expert for Global Mobility & Travel Compliance, you will act as the Global Payroll subject matter expert, design future-state payroll processes and operating models, and work with HR, Global Mobility, Tax, Legal, Finance, HRIT and external providers. The position is based in Krakow, Poland, full time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end payroll processes supporting international business travel compliance.
• Develop operational models for employment tax, social security, payroll reporting and compliance administration.
• Establish payroll standards for immigration, Posted Worker Directive (PWD), tax and social security compliance.
• Define interfaces, data exchanges and integration requirements between payroll providers and compliance solutions.
• Assess impacts across global payroll platforms, including ADP, Ramco and local providers.
• Build governance, audit, reconciliation and control frameworks.
• Support solution design, testing, UAT, deployment and transition to business-as-usual.
• Partner with HR Operations, Global Mobility, Tax, Finance, Legal and external vendors to design the target operating model.
• Drive continuous improvement and resolve complex payroll and compliance issues.

Required profile

• Significant experience in global payroll operations for international or cross-border employees.
• Strong knowledge of employment tax, social security and payroll compliance.
• Experience with shadow payroll and international assignment payroll, and with outsourced payroll providers and multi-country environments.
• Proven ability to design global payroll processes, governance models and control frameworks.
• Stakeholder management, communication and project delivery skills in complex global organizations.
• Experience with Global Mobility, Business Travel Compliance or international assignment services is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Workday and global HR systems is an advantage.
• Experience with large-scale HR, payroll or compliance transformation programs is an advantage.
