Lead/Tech Lead Java Engineer

About the role

Patrianna is seeking a Lead/Tech Lead Java Engineer to drive the design and delivery of high‑performance, scalable systems that power its social gaming platform. You will work remotely within a fast‑growing, AI‑driven engineering culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, scalable system architectures while mentoring team members and championing technical excellence.
• Lead code reviews and establish best‑practice guidelines to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Optimize PostgreSQL database performance and design robust data solutions, including query tuning.
• Architect and maintain high‑throughput messaging systems using Kafka or similar technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, taking full ownership of system reliability.
• Facilitate technical discussions and collaborative problem‑solving across cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Extensive production experience with Java and deep knowledge of JVM internals.
• Strong system design capabilities with proven ability to document and implement complex architectures.
• Advanced expertise in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of messaging concepts and hands‑on experience with the Kafka ecosystem.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills, concurrency knowledge, and security best practices.
• Leadership experience mentoring engineers and upper‑intermediate English proficiency for stakeholder communication.
