Assistant Structural Engineer

About the role

Amentum's Integrated Delivery Solutions (IDS) team is looking for an Assistant Structural Engineer to support its structural engineering inputs for design and construction projects in highly regulated sectors such as infrastructure, industry and energy. The selected candidate will be employed by Critical Mission Services Sp. z o.o., part of Amentum. The role is based in Poland, with projects following UK/European standards and possible exposure to US codes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for concrete and steel structures
• Support structural analysis and design under senior engineer supervision
• Perform basic calculations and checks for structural elements
• Work in BIM environments (Revit / Tekla), including model reviews and clash checks
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BSc/MSc)
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering
• Experience using Eurocodes (EN 1990-1999)
• Fluent English (B2 or higher) and Polish
• Willingness to learn and work in highly regulated sectors (defence, energy, industrial)

Required skills

• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles for RC and steel structures
• Ability to solve straightforward engineering problems with standard methods and supervision
• Works independently on simpler tasks, with moderate guidance on more complex ones
• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Polish
• Comfortable working in digital environments and interacting with BIM models
