Accounting Supervisor

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is looking for an Accounting Supervisor based in Warsaw, Poland (hybrid role). The role supervises the Finance & Accounting function and oversees all finance-related activities for IFF's legal entities in Poland.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing under US GAAP in line with IFF's financial standards and procedures.
• Support end-to-end procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes run through the Shared Service Center and coordinate bank payments, including taxes, payroll and statutory obligations.
• Ensure statutory reporting, local GAAP compliance and reconciliation between US GAAP, local GAAP and tax reporting.
• Lead local tax filings and declarations, including corporate income tax, VAT, social security contributions and employee taxes.
• Manage internal and external audits and government inspections, and lead Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including quarterly controls testing.
• Partner with the Country Manager on finance matters, legal entity compliance, contract management, treasury, payroll and incentive programmes.
• Deliver financial reporting, support capital expenditure administration, oversee stock option and profit-sharing processes and lead regional and corporate finance projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• More than 10 years of experience in general ledger accounting and financial operations.
• At least 3 years of people leadership or team management experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of Polish tax regulations, statutory reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Experience supporting multinational organisations and in a shared services environment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• ERP systems such as SAP and/or Oracle.
• Analytical, problem-solving, planning and organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
