Data Engineer (Remote – Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to design and implement robust data pipelines, build scalable data lakes, and enable business insights through efficient data systems. The position is fully remote within Poland and operates on a B2B contract.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that collect, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized Data Lake.
• Design and optimise data architectures for reporting and analytics, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Guarantee data quality, security, and availability across all systems.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements and support BI initiatives.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine‑tune data pipelines to ensure smooth operation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.

Required profile

• Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with both technical and non‑technical teams.
• Process‑oriented, detail‑focused, and committed to high‑quality deliverables.
• Availability for a 4‑hour overlap between 15:00 and 19:00 Poland time.

Required skills

• Apache Airflow or Talend (or similar orchestration tools).
• SQL.
• Python programming.
• Experience with data lakes/warehouses such as Snowflake, AWS S3, or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Data modelling and database performance optimisation.
