Trade Finance Specialist

About the role

ABB is strengthening its Global Trade Finance Development Center (TFDC) in Krakow as a Centre of Expertise for Export and Trade Finance processes. The specialist advises internal customers on Treasury matters, suggests process improvements to reduce risk and implements the financial instruments needed to manage it. The role contributes to the Trade Finance Delivery Center in the Americas, APAC or EMEA region and works mainly with banks and internal ABB project managers. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a senior member of the Export and Trade Finance operational team, independently managing end-to-end processing of guarantees and counter-guarantees
• Handle complex, non-standard and high-risk trade finance transactions in line with internal policies, bank requirements and regulatory standards
• Provide expert operational support and guidance to local business units on trade finance and treasury matters
• Serve as key contact for ABB core banks, leading discussions and managing escalations when needed
• Be the subject-matter expert for process-related questions within the team
• Identify inefficiencies and risks, and contribute to or lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Take part in treasury and transformation projects, supporting design, implementation and change adoption
• Support, coach and share knowledge with less experienced colleagues

Required profile

• At least 3-5 years of experience in Treasury, especially administration and handling of Trade Finance instruments
• University degree in Finance, Banking, Treasury Management, Economics or a related field
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders (banks, business units)
• Valid work permit or visa allowing employment in Poland

Required skills

• Solid understanding of Trade Finance instruments; knowledge of URDG and UCP is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Excel and standard Windows applications
• Written and spoken English; German and Spanish are an asset
