Solution & Fullstack Engineer (Python + JS) – AI First

About the role

The Codest, an international tech software company with hubs in Poland, is hiring a remote Solution & Fullstack Engineer (Python + JavaScript) for an AI-first engineering team working on a banking application for a leading Japanese financial group. The application is a cross-asset post-trade execution platform that integrates with third-party trade matching and settlement services, handles large volumes of financial data and offers features such as a Trade Blotter and position reporting. You will work across the entire stack, from backend in Python or Python & Java to frontend with JavaScript and modern frameworks, and take ownership of end-to-end solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain fullstack solutions with Python or Python & Java on the backend and JavaScript on the frontend
• Build and enhance responsive user interfaces and integrate them with backend services and APIs
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs and application components
• Take ownership of solutions, from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation and deployment
• Work with PostgreSQL, designing and optimising database structures, queries, functions, triggers and views
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools and explore AI-driven automation in engineering processes
• Build rapid prototypes, validate concepts and deliver in a fast-paced environment
• Take part in technical planning, testing, code reviews and architectural discussions
• Collaborate with international teams and promote clean code and engineering best practices

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience, preferably fullstack or backend-oriented
• Advanced written and spoken English for international collaboration
• Solution-oriented approach, with a focus on scalability, performance and maintainability
• AI-first mindset and openness to emerging technologies

Required skills

• Python and JavaScript with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js or Angular
• PostgreSQL, including indexing, views, functions and triggers
• REST APIs, fullstack architecture and distributed systems
• Object-oriented programming and clean code practices
• CI/CD, version control and modern development practices
• Nice to have: banking/fintech experience, AWS, Docker, Linux, TypeScript, microservices, event-driven systems, AI agents and TypeScript
