Solution Architect (Software Engineering)

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY POLAND is looking for a Solution Architect (Software Engineering) in Lodz to help shape the long-term technical direction of its software platform. The role works closely with development teams, business stakeholders and Global IT to define solution designs and keep applications maintainable and scalable. It focuses on architecture, documentation and stakeholder collaboration rather than day-to-day coding.

Key responsibilities

• Define solution architectures and technical approaches for new initiatives and platform enhancements.
• Collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders and Global IT to align requirements and technical decisions.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards and design guidelines.
• Lead technical discussions and support teams in solving complex engineering challenges.
• Evaluate new technologies and identify ways to improve products, processes and developer productivity.
• Drive innovation initiatives, including the adoption of AI and modern software engineering practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Around 8+ years of experience in software development.
• At least 2 years leading technical initiatives, projects or cross-team engineering efforts.
• Experience in industrial, engineering or other highly complex business domains.
• Experience introducing AI-assisted solutions or applying Generative AI in enterprise settings.
• Very good English and experience in international, cross-functional organisations.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and software lifecycle management.
• Ability to turn business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and modern application platforms.
• Experience with .NET technologies and large-scale software development.
• Azure, architecture or related technical certifications are an advantage.
