Senior Java (Spark) Developer

About the role

You will join a Regulatory Reporting Platform within a large US investment bank. The platform processes massive data volumes to generate regulatory reports for 240 jurisdictions worldwide, supporting around 10,000 reports.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain solutions for a large‑scale regulatory reporting platform.
• Build and enhance data processing pipelines using Java and Apache Spark.
• Implement scalable logic for data ingestion, transformation, aggregation and enrichment.
• Develop and optimise batch processing jobs for multi‑jurisdictional regulatory reporting.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, validation, reconciliation and consistency.
• Collaborate with analysts, QA engineers and cross‑functional teams in an agile, distributed environment.
• Investigate and resolve data and application issues across development, test and production.
• Contribute to reusable components, best‑practice engineering and code reviews.

Required profile

• 6+ years of commercial Java experience and 2+ years with Apache Spark.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and handling large datasets from multiple sources.
• Proven ability to design high‑performance backend applications.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience working in a global distributed team.
