Senior Java Developer – Regulatory Reporting Platform

About the role

A Senior Java Developer is needed in Warsaw to join a Regulatory Reporting Platform within a large US investment bank. The platform collects, processes and transforms large volumes of data from many internal systems to produce regulatory reports for 240 jurisdictions, supporting around 10,000 reports. It is a business-critical data platform in a highly regulated environment, built by a distributed team with colleagues in Ukraine, Poland and the US.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain solutions for the large-scale Regulatory Reporting Platform
• Build and enhance data processing pipelines using Java and Apache Spark
• Develop scalable logic for data ingestion, transformation, aggregation and enrichment from multiple internal sources
• Develop and optimise batch processing jobs to generate regulatory reports across jurisdictions
• Ensure data quality, validation, reconciliation and consistency throughout the reporting lifecycle
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions and collaborate with business analysts, QA engineers and cross-functional teams
• Investigate and resolve data and application issues in development, test and production
• Improve application performance, scalability and reliability, and contribute reusable components and engineering best practices
• Take part in code reviews, testing and releases, and work in an agile, distributed delivery model

Required profile

• 6+ years of commercial experience with Java
• Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend applications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a global distributed team
• Nice to have: financial services, investment banking or regulatory reporting experience; data quality, reconciliation and control frameworks; large-scale enterprise data platforms; cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines; Agile / Scrum in a distributed setup
