Senior Backend Developer (Remote Poland)

About the role

A remote Senior Backend Developer position based in Poland, working for a global science and technology company in the pharmaceutical industry. The project supports initiatives in AWS, AI and data engineering, with plans to launch more than 20 additional initiatives, and modernizes the data infrastructure by moving toward Snowflake.

Key responsibilities

• Work within the D&A landscape primarily using AWS Cloud Services and Azure AD, supporting R&D efforts in drug discovery and development
• Support and implement the technical roadmap, maintain platform functionality, engineer the data archive process and adapt to emerging technologies
• Implement new features and build and manage deployments

Required profile

• In-depth experience in Python, relational databases and SQL, with a background in object-oriented languages such as Scala, C# or Java (advantageous)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices built on AWS, including AWS Lambda with boto3 and serverless design
• Experience building cloud-native systems with AWS at enterprise level
• CI/CD understanding, preferably building pipelines with Azure DevOps
• Testing framework experience and familiarity with AWS security best practices (MFA, encryption, user roles and policies)
• Nice to have: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate, Iceberg, Snowflake, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, NoSQL databases, English B2
