Principal Biostatistician

About the role

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation. As a Principal Biostatistician, you will design and analyse clinical trials, interpret complex medical data and help advance new medicines and treatments. The role manages day-to-day biostatistics activities and supports the team delivering quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as lead biostatistician for programs of studies, submissions or individual studies, from simple to complex.
• Oversee statistical activities supporting ICON's interactions with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Review and approve statistical methods sections of study protocols, statistical analysis plans and statistical input to reports.
• Prepare and approve research proposals and budgets for statistical consulting and analyses for clients.
• Take part in bid defense meetings and present to prospective clients at marketing meetings.

Required profile

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics or a related field, with 9+ years of biostatistical experience with a Master's, or 7+ years with a Ph.D.
• Solid biostatistics experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop a team.
• Effective written and oral communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of multiple statistical and therapeutic areas and the drug development process.
• Statistical programming practices and procedures.
• Ability to plan, supervise, implement and monitor statistical processes for multiple clinical studies.
