Level Designer (Unannounced Project)

About the role

11 bit studios is seeking a Level Designer to join the team working on a new, unannounced project. The role focuses on creating large, diverse open‑world environments that blend natural and human‑made spaces for first‑person exploration, survival and traversal.

Key responsibilities

• Design and iterate open‑world locations from early greyboxes to final layouts.
• Create natural environments and biomes that support clear navigation and first‑person traversal.
• Design gameplay spaces around survival mechanics, verticality, combat and environmental challenges.
• Build varied locations using modular and scalable solutions, including outdoor, indoor, shelters, abandoned sites and caves.
• Collaborate closely with Environment Art, Tech Art and Game Design to turn prototypes into performant locations.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in Level Design.
• Strong understanding of first‑person level design and large‑scale/open‑world environments.
• Proactive approach to design, research and problem solving.
• Fluent English and good communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Unreal Engine, including knowledge of World Partition.
• Greyboxing and prototyping skills.
• Modular, set‑based design thinking.
• Basic 3D asset prototyping in Blender or similar software (nice to have).
