Java Developer

About the role

Join The Codest, an international tech software company, as a Java Developer in Kraków. You will work on Java‑based services and REST APIs, contributing to the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java backend services, REST APIs and micro‑services.
• Collaborate with product, QA and operations teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
• Support production systems, resolve incidents and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Participate in architecture discussions focused on performance, security and observability.
• Follow Agile practices, using CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code reviews.
• Maintain technical documentation and continuously improve engineering practices.

Required profile

• Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Strong commercial experience with Java (8+/11+/17+/21) and Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, micro‑services and SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with React, MQ/Solace, Redis and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Git, Maven/Gradle and DevOps tooling.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Jenkins).
• Understanding of application security and testing practices.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/DevOps environments and across distributed teams.
