Integration Engineer (Hardware/Embedded)

About the role

Swarmer is looking for an Integration Engineer to lead the hardware composition of autonomous drone systems and ensure seamless integration with our software stack. You will work at the intersection of embedded development and real‑world defense applications, contributing to products that protect lives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware architectures for drone systems, including component selection and system‑level integration.
• Develop and optimise embedded software for companion computers, microcontrollers and flight controllers, ensuring real‑time performance.
• Build, test and iterate hardware prototypes to meet reliability and specification targets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to streamline production and maintain quality control.
• Work directly with vendors to specify requirements, evaluate components and integrate third‑party hardware.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with embedded development, microcontrollers and Embedded Linux.
• Demonstrated expertise in UAV technologies, flight controllers and communication protocols such as MAVLink.
• Strong networking knowledge (OSI layers, firewalls, routing) and Linux system skills.
• Proven track record of planning and executing complex hardware‑software integrations.
• Excellent communication skills and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
