Global Supplier Development Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy seeks a Global Supplier Development Engineer for the Transformers Business Unit. The role ensures suppliers deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective materials and drives continuous improvement across the global supply base.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification through SAP Ariba assessments and global on‑site audits.
• Implement improvement actions, oversee parts approvals, and monitor performance indicators.
• Conduct annual Supplier Performance Evaluations and develop recovery action plans.
• Resolve escalated non‑conformities via root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with material and supplier sustainability goals.

Required profile

• Engineering or Supply Chain degree with at least 8 years of quality assurance and supplier development experience.
• Experience in metal fabrication, welding, machining, or transformer components.
• Knowledge of heat‑treatment and surface‑protection processes.
• Familiarity with ISO‑9001, IATF16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001; certifications in welding, painting, or NDT are a plus.
• Strong analytical, project‑management and communication skills; willingness to travel internationally.
