About the role
ABB is hiring a Cost Engineer / Mechanical Engineer in its R&D team in Krakow. The position reports to the QMT Manager and involves working on R&D projects with limited supervision, leading or supporting cost reduction activities for energy distribution products.
Key responsibilities
- Work as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
- Lead or support R&D teams with cost reduction activities for energy distribution products, following Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing and Should Cost analysis methodologies.
- Facilitate workshops with international cross-functional teams.
- Prepare documentation and present analysis results to customers.
Required profile
- Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Up to 3-4 years of experience in product or part design.
- Ability to think analytically and creatively.
- Comfortable communicating in English.
Required skills
- Highly skilled in and enjoys Design for Assembly/Manufacturing or Should Cost analyses.
- Experience in the energy, automotive or similar market.
- Passion for cost-effective product concepts and design improvements.
