R&D Team Leader - Valve Electronics

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for an R&D Team Leader for its Valve Electronics Design Organization in Krakow. You will lead a team of engineers developing electronics and power electronics solutions and guide the full product development lifecycle, from concept and research through validation and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of R&D engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture
• Oversee the product development lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies to validation and production support
• Define project scope, priorities, timelines and resource allocation
• Drive research and evaluation of emerging technologies, materials and methodologies
• Guide the design of embedded systems, control algorithms, sensor integration and communication solutions
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams
• Oversee verification and validation, including hardware-in-the-loop simulations and physical testing
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements and quality processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering (PhD a plus)
• At least 7 years in electronics R&D, including 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role
• Fluent English
