Application Manager

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY POLAND is looking for an Application Manager in Lodz. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Engineering applications, ensuring they deliver business value, operational stability, security and regulatory compliance. The role bridges business, IT, architecture, cybersecurity and vendors, covering onboarding, operations, risk management and controlled retirement, and aligns applications with enterprise architecture and digital transformation goals.

Key responsibilities

• Govern applications across the full lifecycle, from onboarding through operations and continuous improvement to retirement
• Maintain application documentation and records in the CMDB / application registry
• Ensure service delivery, including incident, problem, change and release management, and manage availability, performance and SLAs
• Meet security and compliance requirements, including access management, audits and vulnerability remediation
• Maintain application roadmaps aligned with business priorities, engineering strategy and enterprise architecture
• Drive user adoption, support process harmonization, training and business value realization
• Manage costs, budgets, licenses and vendors, including contracts and third-party performance
• Plan and execute controlled application retirement, including data archiving and risk mitigation

Required profile

• 2+ years in Application Management, IT Service Delivery or similar roles, managing applications across their full lifecycle
• Functional knowledge or hands-on experience in the Engineering domain (engineering tools, product design, manufacturing, PLM systems)
• Experience with global, cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, integrations and data flows
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience

Required skills

• ITIL 4 (incident, problem, change, release, SLA management)
• Application lifecycle and service management tools such as ServiceNow
• Agile / DevOps development models and Lean / Lean Six Sigma principles
