Sr Staff AIOps Engineer - ML & GenAI Platforms

About the role

GE HealthCare's Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) Enterprise AI team is looking for a Senior Staff AIOps Engineer in Krakow. You will design, deliver and maintain development and deployment pipelines for high-impact AI applications across business areas such as Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality, Operational Excellence, Lean and Manufacturing. The role is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and operation of secure, reliable and scalable platforms for deploying and managing AI/ML workloads across GE HealthCare.
• Define and drive the AI/ML platform and MLOps roadmap, focusing on AWS infrastructure, automation, standardization and operational excellence.
• Establish and improve CI/CD and MLOps practices across the model lifecycle, including testing, versioning, deployment, rollback, monitoring and governance.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads using AWS services such as SageMaker, EKS, S3, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Promote infrastructure as code and repeatable environment management with tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, security and cost efficiency together with cloud, cybersecurity, architecture and IT teams.
• Set standards for containerization, orchestration, deployment automation, observability, incident response and production support.
• Work with data science, software engineering and business teams to turn model prototypes into production-ready services.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists and evaluate tools that improve AI/ML platform operations.

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant hands-on experience building and operating cloud platforms, DevOps pipelines or MLOps solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Experience designing production systems focused on reliability, security, scalability, observability and cost management.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives, set engineering standards and mentor cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments is an advantage; familiarity with Azure or hybrid clouds is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong AWS experience, including SageMaker, EKS, S3, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Python proficiency and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins, and Git workflows.
• Working knowledge of model lifecycle management and MLOps tools such as MLflow or SageMaker.
• Exposure to GenAI services and patterns (e.g. Amazon Bedrock or RAG) is beneficial but not the main focus.

• Annual salary range for Poland-based positions of 356,000 to 489,500 PLN, depending on skills, experience and internal equity.
