Software Engineer – AI Functions Platform

About the role

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join the Cortex AI Functions Platform team at Snowflake. The team builds the platform that lets customers invoke AI models directly from SQL at data‑warehouse scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate high‑throughput backend services that handle large volumes of inference requests.
• Collaborate with research, product, and engineering partners to shape short‑ and long‑term product strategy.
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers and contribute to production support and incident resolution.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience building production backend or distributed systems using C++, Java, Go, Python or similar languages.
• BSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field; MSc/PhD a plus.
• Experience designing high‑throughput services, handling concurrency, back‑pressure, partial failures and observability.
