Senior Software Engineer - SAP ABAP

About the role

BlackLine is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Krakow to build its next generation of applications and data platform, with a focus on SAP ERP components. The role centres on the business logic of the SAP FI and CO modules and financial transactions in SD and MM, with Fiori UI development as a key element. The work is done in a collaborative agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse requirements, estimate effort, design and deliver highly scalable software, and turn stakeholder needs into functional and technical requirements
• Take part in technical design and architecture discussions and make trade-offs on technology, performance and extensibility
• Estimate scope and timelines and deliver on commitments
• Design, develop, unit test, optimise, scale and maintain secure distributed backend services, and write functional and technical specifications and test plans
• Mentor colleagues, lead by example, and perform peer code reviews
• Evaluate new tools and technologies and recommend their adoption
• Write clean, testable, maintainable and secure code, and set good software quality practices
• Handle maintenance, deployment and release support, including occasional off-hours support

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in SAP ABAP programming
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Experience in an agile development environment
• Ability to write technical documentation, including UML diagrams
• Willingness to advance beyond SAP ABAP is not excluded

Required skills

• SAP ABAP, fluent OO ABAP, preferably with Eclipse/ADT
• S/4HANA and ECC 6.0 environments
• ABAP unit testing and code refactoring
• Service-oriented architecture thinking and enterprise product development concepts such as SOLID and RRD
• Agile and Scrum experience

Nice to have: FinTech or financial services background, willingness to assist the support team with customer incidents and to help Product Owners define business functions. Salary range: PLN 254,000 - 318,000 per year. Candidates living within a reasonable commute work at least 3 days a week in the office.
