Senior DevOps Platform Engineer (AWS)

About the role

A Senior Platform Engineer with strong DevOps experience is sought in Krakow, Poland. The role combines deep operational expertise with a development background, working at the intersection of infrastructure, security and application development. It suits someone who designs scalable systems, automates what is possible and takes ownership of platform reliability in production. The position is on an annual renewable contract, based in Krakow, with an immediate start and requires speaking Polish and English.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain core platform components such as SSO, access management, clusters, networking, CI/CD and observability.
• Own Terraform modules, baseline configurations and guardrails for distributed teams, and maintain platform IaC including multi-account governance.
• Design and evolve platform golden paths, templates and standards, and integrate with team-owned CDK stacks through stable platform contracts.
• Lead the evolution of platform abstraction layers and service catalogs, and design and manage the multi-account AWS landing zone (Orgs, SCPs, permissions boundaries).
• Own developer onboarding patterns and build safe cross-account deployment workflows using GitHub OIDC and least privilege.
• Operate and evolve ECS and EKS clusters used by hundreds of services, and set best practices for container execution, networking and autoscaling.
• Manage central networking components (VPC, TGW, Route53) and ensure secure east-west communication between workloads.
• Provide self-service tools and templates for teams, and own documentation, workshops, patterns and architectural guidance.
• Operate platform-wide logging, metrics and tracing systems and enforce operational standards.

Required profile

• Strong experience as a Platform or DevOps engineer operating production systems at scale, with at least 4 years of hands-on AWS experience, especially multi-account environments and organizational governance.
• Experience running and operating EKS and/or ECS in production, and platform development experience.
• Multi-account experience and software development experience.
• Experience designing developer platforms and internal tooling for self-service and standardization.
• Background in cloud security, IAM, SCPs, permissions boundaries and secure networking.
• Operational excellence mindset: monitoring, logging, alerting, SLOs and incident handling.
• Development experience in Java/Kotlin (Spring Boot) or Node.js/TypeScript, with ability to read, debug and contribute to application code.
