QA Engineer - Manual & Automation (Remote)

About the role

A global staffing company, SD Solutions, is recruiting on behalf of a FinTech client for a QA Engineer covering both manual and automated testing. The role is fully remote, long-term and paid in EUR, with real ownership of QA processes, tools and standards. The client is a direct marketplace for whole-loan mortgage transactions, with its R&D team in Israel working closely with colleagues in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Test new features manually, including exploratory testing of long, multi-role flows such as pricing, eligibility and documents
• Build and own automation: Playwright + TypeScript E2E and API tests running in CI
• Keep the test suite trustworthy: hunt down flaky tests, maintain selectors and test data, keep regression fast
• Own the release: run the QA board, test plans and regression, and give the go/no-go before every deploy
• Investigate production issues using Sentry, Datadog and PostHog, reproduce them and hand developers a clear ticket

Required profile

• 3-5 years in QA, with recent hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing
• Daily use of AI tools in QA (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to write tests, generate data and find gaps
• Proven remote work: has tested and shipped from home for years, communicates in writing by default
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to say "not ready" with evidence

Required skills

• Playwright in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Git and CI (GitHub Actions or similar)
• API testing (Postman, pytest or similar) and SQL to check data in the database
• Understanding of financial products, money flows and compliance

Advantages listed include US mortgage industry experience, having built a QA program from scratch in Jira and Confluence, performance testing with k6 and security testing basics in Python.
