Product Stewardship & Regulatory Specialist - EMEA

About the role

Axalta is looking for a Product Stewardship & Regulatory Specialist, EMEA, to join one of its facilities in Poland, the UK or Spain. The role supports compliance with European, Middle Eastern and African chemical, product safety, environmental and transportation regulations for paints, coatings and related raw materials. It works closely with R&D, commercial, supply chain and manufacturing teams so that products meet regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the regulatory environment for new legislation and ensure compliance with any changes
• Audit existing formulations against the regulations of current sales countries
• Anticipate future regulatory actions and assess regulatory conditions of new markets before entry
• Track raw material classification changes and formulation updates and their impact on SDS and labels
• Provide input to artwork generation so labels and technical literature meet legal standards and claims are backed by data
• Respond to formulation disclosure requests, for example to government authorities
• Maintain written procedures and work instructions for raw material processes in the PSRA function

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry or a related field
• 3+ years' experience in product stewardship and/or regulatory affairs, preferably in a multinational corporate environment
• Knowledge of key regulatory drivers of the global chemical industry, such as REACH and VOC regulations, for industrial and consumer markets
• Ability to interpret product regulatory requirements for chemical products and to assign GHS classifications
• Experience in SDS and label authoring and preparation
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills
• Customer-focused, result-oriented and able to work under pressure

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office products
• Understanding of complex chemical substance regulations
