Mechanical Designer (m/f/d) – Global Engineering Center

About the role

Hitachi Energy's Global Engineering Services Center, a key design hub specialising in transformer design for customers worldwide, is looking for a Mechanical Designer in Lodz (Aleksandrowska) or Cracow (Pawia). The position follows a hybrid work model and sits within a global organisation of over 36,000 employees across 90 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical design of transformer components and preparation of technical documentation according to customer specifications
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools
• Manage assigned projects and ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions
• Optimise technical solutions in ongoing orders, considering both mechanical and electrical requirements
• Work with an international engineering team, manufacturing and other stakeholders
• Take part in project meetings and technical consultations
• Support the implementation of new engineering solutions, technologies and design improvements

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
• Relevant experience in mechanical design using CAD tools
• Good command of English, as daily work takes place in an international environment
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, independence and responsibility, and ability to meet deadlines
• Teamwork skills and good time management

Required skills

• CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor
• 3D modelling and 2D drawing
