Procurement Specialist (German) - Indirect Materials and Services Buyer

About the role

ABB's Electrification IMS Procurement team in Krakow is looking for an IM&S (Indirect Materials and Services) Buyer fluent in German with hands-on purchasing experience. The role covers the full procure-to-pay process for indirect goods and services, working with colleagues and suppliers worldwide. It reports to the Procurement Team Leader.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process: launch purchase orders, confirm deliveries and monitor supplier performance.
• Align supplier orders with internal requirements for quality, timely delivery, sustainability and cost-effectiveness, and build relationships with approved suppliers.
• Oversee goods receipt verification and invoice processing.
• Support supplier scouting with Category teams and manage supplier onboarding through SAP Ariba.
• Support strategic sourcing by executing sourcing strategies, leading tactical negotiations and small RFQs, analysing spend and comparing supplier proposals.
• Drive digitalisation, automation and continuous improvement in procurement, working in cross-functional and virtual teams.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in purchasing or buyer roles, with a good understanding of procurement processes.
• Fluent German (C1) and business English (B2/C1), with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proactive, customer-focused and solution-oriented, able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Comfortable working independently and in diverse, international and virtual teams.

Required skills

• SAP Purchasing module and SAP Ariba, with hands-on experience of both.
• Strong Excel and digital skills.
