Modernization Engineer - Generative and Agentic AI

About the role

Kyndryl is hiring a Modernization Engineer in Wroclaw, Poland. The engineer works directly with customers to design, deploy and operate generative and agentic AI solutions, combining engineering expertise with consultative engagement. The role is hybrid, often involves on-site customer work, and focuses on business outcomes rather than code alone.

Key responsibilities

• Build autonomous agents using Kyndryl's Agentic Platform, LLMs, planning algorithms and decision frameworks
• Customize pre-built agents and design agent architectures for autonomy, interaction and task completion
• Integrate agents with applications, APIs, workflows, databases, cloud platforms and external services
• Refine agent behavior through feedback loops, reinforcement learning and user interactions
• Monitor performance, implement security and reliability safeguards, and optimize cost, scalability and reliability
• Use orchestration tools such as Temporal and Airflow, and knowledge graphs to strengthen agent reasoning
• Deploy and tailor agentic AI platforms, LLM agents and orchestration frameworks, and resolve blockers in data ingestion, model deployment and agent behavior
• Design and refine prompts, translate business logic into agentic workflows, and own delivery from scoping through production
• Document agent logic and design decisions, and build and maintain the Enterprise Agents and Tools Registry
• Capture deployment lessons, share best practices, and stay current with emerging technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or an equivalent field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience building AI solutions with frameworks such as LangChain, Microsoft Semantic Kernel, Google ADK or Microsoft Agent Framework
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and explain them to stakeholders including executives
• Global travel of at least 25%

Required skills

• Full-stack development with Python, TypeScript and React.js
• Knowledge of LLMs, agent architectures and observability tools such as LangSmith, Langfuse and LiteLLM
• Docker, Kubernetes and at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Microservices, Git/GitHub, SQL (PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB) and vector databases
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, API development, and RAG architectures
• Experience with multi-agent systems and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen or CrewAI
