Model Validator – Financial Risk IRRBB

About the role

ING Hubs Poland is hiring a Model Validator for the IRRBB function within its Risk Hub Warsaw team. The team validates IRRBB and CSRBB models for the banking books used by ING Group worldwide, assessing whether each model is fit for purpose and compliant with regulations. The role is named "Model Validator III" in the global ING job architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high-quality validations and write clear validation reports that add value to stakeholders.
• Work with model developers, senior management, auditors and the ECB.
• Keep up with the latest ALM / IRRBB / CSRBB developments and attend or present at conferences.
• Improve the coding libraries used for model validation.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in model development or validation in market risk, ALM or IRRBB.
• Knowledge of the regulations governing interest rate risk and model validation.
• Quantitative background (MSc or PhD) in econometrics, quantitative methods, quantitative finance, mathematics, statistics or physics.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• A genuine passion for continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, MATLAB or R.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM or CFA are an advantage.
