GL Accountant – Finance & Accounting

About the role

Alcon is seeking a GL Accountant to join its Finance, Accounting & Audit team in Warsaw. You will ensure the accuracy of financial records, support month‑end close, and contribute to the company’s financial strategy in the eye‑care industry.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and post financial transactions to the general ledger, including accruals and pre‑payments.
• Perform balance‑sheet and profit‑and‑loss reclassifications.
• Verify data accuracy and reconcile accounts on a regular basis.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and variance analyses.
• Review transactions for compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Provide accurate data to support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in general‑ledger accounting, preferably with fixed‑assets handling.
• Experience working in a shared‑services environment is a plus.
• Strong command of English; Spanish is a nice‑to‑have.
• Analytical mindset, good communication skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Positive attitude with a focus on continuous process improvement.
