Field Service Engineer - Transformers

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY is looking for a Field Service Engineer for its Transformers business in Lodz, Poland. You will contribute to the service strategy and service growth by delivering timely, high-quality, cost-effective service offerings, solutions and engineering projects for customers. The role is full time and involves frequent and extended work delegations of typically 3 to 8 weeks, domestically and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out transformer service work onshore and offshore, including installation and commissioning, device replacements, routine maintenance, inspections and problem identification for analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate parts, materials and components for each project and lead jobs from start to finish under the project manager's direction.
• Maintain project documentation and checklists, prepare reports and help resolve on-site issues.
• Follow safety rules, assess hazards and protect people and equipment, while keeping environmental responsibilities in mind.
• Use initiative to identify new service opportunities and give feedback to recommend better solutions.

Required profile

• Technical education in Electrical, Mechanical or Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience installing, maintaining, servicing or commissioning industrial equipment; power transformer experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience leading operational teams and hands-on experience with installation, testing and measurement equipment.
• Good command of English and willingness to travel frequently and for long periods.
• Valid category B driving licence.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting technical documentation, engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
