External Manufacturing Buyer – Pharmaceuticals & Packaging Subcontracting

About the role

Servier is seeking an External Manufacturing Buyer to manage outsourced manufacturing and packaging activities for its medicines. The role sits within the External Manufacturing Procurement team, reports to the Category Manager and works remotely with cross‑functional teams across Europe and the USA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities, RFx processes, supplier risk assessment and onboarding for CDMO partners.
• Negotiate, implement and renew contracts, statements of work and manage claim resolution.
• Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs and dashboards, and drive corrective action plans.
• Coordinate with supply chain, technical, quality, regulatory and legal functions to ensure effective supplier oversight.
• Support the Category Manager in strategy definition, market analysis and preferred‑supplier reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in direct procurement within pharmaceutical, biomedical or chemical industries, preferably in a CDMO environment.
• Strong background in sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Project‑management skills, including goal setting, risk assessment and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience working in multicultural, cross‑functional teams and applying risk‑management processes.
• Familiarity with GMP environments and fluent English communication.
