Domain Architect - HR

About the role

ABB is looking for a Domain Architect for the Human Resources (HR) domain within its Enterprise Architecture function. The role defines, governs and evolves the HR domain architecture so that the HR technology landscape is coherent, secure and scalable, supporting a consistent employee experience while meeting decentralized business needs. It reports to the Global Head IS Enterprise Architecture and the Senior Domain Architect for Functional Domains, and follows a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Own the HR Domain Architecture and target state, including HR capability mapping, architecture principles and guardrails, integration and data architecture, and data distribution patterns.
• Lead solution architecture reviews and assessments, and maintain up-to-date architecture documentation in EA tools such as Ardoq.
• Develop the HR domain roadmap aligned to enterprise strategy and the HR technology roadmap.
• Act as end-to-end architect for the Workday landscape, keeping the total solution coherent and fit for purpose.
• Review the collective Workday footprint to find overlaps, gaps and opportunities for consolidation or better use of native Workday capabilities before introducing custom solutions.
• Stay current on Workday modules, capabilities and releases to advise on how they can complement the landscape.

Required profile

• 7+ years in architecture or senior HR technology roles.
• Experience in large, decentralized or federated enterprises.
• Understanding of HR processes and operating models.
• Strong executive communication and storytelling skills.

Required skills

• Strong experience with HR systems and platforms such as Workday.
• Experience with HR integrations (identity, payroll, finance).
• Understanding of privacy and regulatory considerations for HR data.
• Functional capability modeling, SaaS and packaged application landscapes, and cross-domain dependency management.
