Assistant Civil Engineer – Land Surveying Projects

About the role

Amentum's new Integrated Delivery Solutions (IDS) team in Kraków or Warsaw is looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer (Asystent/Asystentka Projektanta Budownictwa Lądowego). The selected candidate is employed by Critical Mission Services Sp. z o.o., part of Amentum, and supports the IDS team in delivering civil engineering solutions for complex, highly regulated projects in defence, industry, energy and infrastructure. The role involves civil engineering design, technical deliverables and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, drawings, layouts and detailed design documentation for site development, grading and drainage, stormwater management, flood protection, earthworks, terrain modelling, cut-and-fill analysis, underground utilities, access roads, pavements and associated infrastructure.
• Apply and interpret UK and European design standards.
• Use engineering best practice to improve design quality, constructability, safety, sustainability and lifecycle performance.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, MEP, Architecture, Fire and Environmental disciplines to resolve interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with IDS governance, quality procedures and document control.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering (MSc/MEng preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering design within infrastructure.
• Fluent written and spoken English (B2 or higher); Polish is required for the role.
• Works independently on simpler tasks and collaborates in multi-disciplinary, international teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK/European standards; familiarity with US codes is an advantage.
• Tools: Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, QGIS, Navisworks or equivalents.
• BIM workflow experience (Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks).
• Comfortable in digital environments and with BIM models.
