Software Engineer (Backend & Infra)

About the role

You will build the systems that power GRAI's AI‑driven music products, from backend services and media pipelines to model inference and cloud infrastructure. This is an end‑to‑end engineering position where you shape architecture and deliver production‑grade software at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain production software for AI music products.
• Build backend services, APIs, workers, internal tools and orchestration systems for media and AI pipelines.
• Work with audio/video processing, including formats, codecs, transcoding, metadata, storage, streaming and delivery.
• Develop and optimise systems for model inference, job queues, scheduling, batching, caching, retries and observability.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering experience building production systems.
• Proficiency in Python and solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and performance trade‑offs.
• Experience with distributed systems, backend services, APIs, queues, databases, object storage and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to debug complex issues across code, infrastructure, network and storage boundaries.
• Track record of writing clean, tested and maintainable code and owning projects end‑to‑end.
