Head of Department, Piping

About the role

The Head of Department, Piping leads the piping discipline within Air Liquide Engineering & Construction, ensuring successful project execution and development of the team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage performance of piping engineers, designers and lead engineers, setting objectives and providing feedback.
• Plan and allocate personnel to projects, including external staffing and contract resources.
• Ensure technical governance, recruitment and knowledge build‑up for current and future needs.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage the department budget and harmonise tools, workflows and standards across sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in an engineering field.
• Extensive experience in piping engineering within oil & gas, chemical or energy sectors.
• Proven knowledge of EPC project execution and several years of project or line management.
• Strong communication, negotiation and decision‑making skills, with fluency in English.
