Managing Designer – Educational Content Development

About the role

Join the Publishing Content Development team at Macmillan Education, part of Springer Nature, as a Managing Designer in Warsaw. You will lead design and brand identity for educational courses, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and manage third‑party vendors on a fixed‑term maternity cover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of innovative design concepts and create samples for investment approval.
• Oversee project budgets and schedules, using data analytics for cost submissions and timeline adherence.
• Provide clear briefs and maintain high‑quality output while managing budgets.
• Champion asset reuse across projects to drive efficiency and cost optimisation.
• Ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines and quality standards.
• Manage timely delivery of final files from vendors for print and digital production.
• Collaborate with Content Architect and cross‑functional teams to prepare authoring templates for XML creation.
• Systematically archive project files and documentation.

Required profile

• Previous in‑house experience as a Designer or Project Manager in a creative role.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and vendor relationships.
