Software Quality Engineering Manager (QA Manager)

About the role

Sphera, a global provider of enterprise software and services focused on environmental, health, safety and sustainability, is looking for a QA Manager to lead quality assurance across multiple product lines and concurrent projects. The role owns QA execution and team leadership, drives consistent testing practices and continuous improvement, and is a hands-on management position reporting to QA leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, allocate resources across projects and sprints, and foster a culture of quality ownership
• Own QA strategy and test planning, including functional, regression and release testing, and maintain risk-based test coverage
• Drive the transition from manual to automated testing and build automation into sprint delivery
• Lead the move toward an AI-driven development lifecycle, piloting AI-assisted testing, test generation and quality tooling
• Manage QA across the full release lifecycle, including regression cycles and release sign-off, and support incident and defect triage
• Act as the primary QA point of contact for product lines, communicating quality status and risks to stakeholders
• Track and report quality metrics such as defect trends, test coverage and regression outcomes, and escalate risks proactively

Required profile

• 5+ years of software QA experience, including 2+ years in a QA leadership or team management role
• Experience managing QA across multiple products or projects at once
• Demonstrated experience leading a team's transition from manual to automated testing
• Interest in AI-assisted development and testing, and willingness to adopt AI-driven development lifecycle approaches
• Experience with heterogeneous or legacy tech stacks is a plus
• Familiarity with risk-based testing and regression planning for enterprise SaaS products
• Comfortable presenting quality status to technical and non-technical audiences

Required skills

• Strong understanding of test automation principles and the test pyramid
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar test and work management tooling
• Domain familiarity with risk management or compliance software is a plus
